D-Shape Flat Bottom Steering Wheel Cover — 15 Inch

A steering wheel cover cut for a flat-bottom, D-shaped wheel — not a round one. If your wheel has a straight section across the bottom, a standard round cover will bunch and sit proud of the rim at exactly the point your hands rest. This one is shaped for it.

Which wheels is it actually for?

14.5 to 15 inch outer diameter, with a flat bottom. That's the sport-wheel shape fitted to:

• Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette
• Ford Mustang
• Honda Civic Type R and Si
• Volkswagen Golf GTI and R
• Most factory sport and performance-package wheels of that diameter

If your wheel is fully round, buy a round cover, not this one. A D-shaped cover on a circular rim leaves slack at the bottom. What it's made of

Perforated leather-texture outer with carbon-fiber-look side panels, over a gel padding layer. The gel is the part you notice on a long drive — it takes the edge off a thin factory rim without making the wheel feel fat. The perforation is there so your palms aren't sitting against a sealed surface in summer.

Reinforced stitching, and a non-slip inner ring so the cover doesn't creep round the rim under load.

Fitting it

Stretch-on, no tools, a few minutes. It's deliberately tight out of the box — that tension is what stops it rotating later. Line the flat section up with the flat section of your wheel first, then work the rest over the rim a section at a time.

• Measure outer diameter, edge to edge — you want 14.5 to 15 inches
• Confirm the bottom of your rim is flat, not round
• Between sizes? Size down. A tight cover beds in; a loose one slips
